These terms apply to your use of the Open3D Viewer mobile app and the web viewer at open3d.app (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

About this product — important disambiguation

"Open3D Viewer" is an independent 3D file viewer made by an individual developer. It is NOT affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or otherwise connected to the Open3D open-source library hosted at open3d.org (the C++/Python 3D data processing library originally developed by Intel ISL). Open3D Viewer does not use, link, or incorporate any code from the Open3D library or its forks. The "Open3D" in this product's name refers to opening 3D files, and any name similarity is coincidental. All trademarks remain the property of their respective owners. Service

Open3D Viewer is a 3D file viewer that opens common 3D file formats (STL, GLB, OBJ, FBX, STEP, IGES, DXF, USDZ, PLY, 3MF, GLTF, DAE, 3DS) on your device. Your files are processed only on the device you are using.

Your files and content

You retain all rights to any 3D file you open with Open3D Viewer. We take no ownership, license, or rights to your files. We do not upload, copy, share, sell, or process them off-device.

Estimates and measurements

Any figures the app produces — including but not limited to triangle counts, bounding boxes, wall thickness, manifold / watertight status, print weight, filament length, and on-model measurements — are convenient estimates, not a substitute for a proper slicer, CAD software, or measuring instruments. Do not rely on them for safety-critical decisions, structural engineering, manufacturing, medical, or commercial use.

Augmented Reality (AR)

The AR feature uses the operating system's native AR (Apple Quick Look on iOS, Google Scene Viewer on Android) to place 3D models in your physical space. Pay attention to your surroundings while using AR; do not use AR while driving, operating machinery, or in any setting where reduced situational awareness could cause harm.

Advertising

The Service is supported by advertisements delivered by Google. Ad content is determined by Google's ad systems and not by us. We are not responsible for the content of third-party advertisements shown within the Service.

Limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of your use of the Service, including but not limited to damage to printed parts, machine tools, hardware, lost data, or lost profits.

Third-party services

The Service uses Google AdMob (advertising), Google Firebase Crashlytics (crash reporting), Apple App Store / Google Play (distribution), and Cloudflare (web hosting). Your use of those services is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies, in addition to these terms.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. Material changes will be noted on this page with an updated "last updated" date.

Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the mobile app or closing the website. We may, at our discretion, terminate or restrict access to the Service for any user who violates these terms or applicable law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of the Service shall be brought exclusively in the competent courts of India.
